Sustainability Master Plan: lead planner for 5 block development
As the lead sustainability planner for a 5 block development in downtown (Chinatown), Portland, Oregon, I authored the sustainability chapter of master plan using low and high tech means to achieve the the 2030 Challenge goal of net zero energy and water consumption by 2030. I nurtured a integrated design method to capture the knowledge of all team members at the early design phases of this project. The year long process involved researching technologies, like geothermal, that are not used frequently but have tremendous potential for this site, especially since the buildings are designed to share energy streams.
THE FOLLOWING ARE EXCERPTS FROM THE SUSTAINABILTY CHAPTER OF THE MASTER PLAN

ENERGY: Shared system analysis, phased goal of Net Zero by 2030
